McCoy, Kimple secure NIDCR funding for MSG MSCs for Xerostomia

UW Program for Advanced Cell Therapy partners Sara McCoy and Randall Kimple secure a new $297,680 National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) R34 award to develop MSG MSC for xerostomia.

Entitled “Planning a phase I study of minor salivary gland derived autologous MSCs for prevention of long-term radiation induced xerostomia”, this award to UW Carbone Cancer Center members McCoy and Kimple will directly support the development of autologous minor salivary gland sourced mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) a novel cell therapy for xerostomia (https://lnkd.in/ekiF9xAN). This proposal includes co-investigators Grace Blitzer, Nicole Rogus-Pulia and Jacques Galipeau, all of whom are actively collaborating in on-going UW Health phase I trial of autologous marrow-sourced MSCs for xerostomia (NCT05820711).
